Master thesis with a focus on Operations Research - Terminals and Distribution Centers
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Master's student to work on an exciting project in the field of Terminals and Distribution Centers. The Master thesis will be carried out in collaboration with your supervising professor and offers the opportunity to mathematically model a real logistical problem from our working world and develop a software solution.
What you can move with us:
- You carry out mathematical modeling in the field of operations research
- In close cooperation with the team and your supervisor at INFORM, you will develop a prototype to solve the logistics problem
- You will integrate software programming to implement the solution
- Finally, you will create a presentation of the results. With this presentation you enter into dialog with your team an your supervisor at INFORM
What you bring along:
- Completed Bachelor's degree
- Very good knowledge of operations research, especially mathematical programming
- Good knowledge of software programming, whereby experience in C++ or Java is desirable
- Interest and enthusiasm for future-oriented topics and environmental issues
- Ideally initial experience in the implementation of closed projects
- Excellent communication skills and interest in teamwork
- Matriculation at a university/university of applied sciences in Aachen and/or the surrounding area
- Prospect of finding a supervising professor at your university
- Duration of the Master thesis approx. 6 months
